Meet KT
King Tut, better known as KT, is SIU’s Crisis Response and Wellness K9 and a sworn member of the SIU Department of Public Safety. While he may wear a badge, KT’s most important role is helping people.
Every day, KT brings comfort, companionship, and connection to students, faculty, staff, and community members throughout Southern Illinois. Whether someone is experiencing stress, anxiety, grief, homesickness, depression, or simply having a difficult day, KT provides a calming presence and a reason to smile.
Through positive interactions and wellness-focused outreach, KT helps create meaningful moments of support that strengthen the SIU community.
