Black Archives Project

Help Protect Black Saluki History

If we don't preserve these stories now, they could be lost forever.

The stories of Black Salukis helped shape SIU, but many of those memories, achievements, photographs, and personal experiences remain undocumented and at risk of being lost forever. The Black Archives Project was created to preserve these voices and ensure future generations can learn from, celebrate, and be inspired by the remarkable legacy of Black students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

But preserving history requires action today. Your support will help collect, safeguard, and share these irreplaceable stories while building a permanent endowment to sustain the archive for generations to come. Every gift helps ensure that the contributions, challenges, and triumphs of Black Salukis are never forgotten. Join us in honoring the past and protecting this legacy for the future. Make your gift today.
