The College of Engineering, Computing, Technology, and Mathematics at SIU Carbondale holds fast to a unique tradition of access and opportunity, inclusive excellence, and top-tier research, encouraging creativity within a climate of outstanding student success-focused teaching. The college, as part of a nationally ranked public research university, creates and shares knowledge aimed at shaping future leaders, improving communities and transforming lives. The college’s six schools offer a wide range of courses leading to bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. The college promotes opportunities for students to participate in a wide range of activities outside the classroom including research, design competitions, service-oriented projects and leadership development activities.

SIU is one of only 21 universities out of nearly 4,000 nationwide honored by the Carnegie Classification as both a Research 1 institution and an Opportunity University — a rare combination that delivers groundbreaking discoveries and opens doors for ALL students.
