Balancing Education, Experience, & Reality Schp.

This scholarship was created by a group of alumni within a social media account dedicated to sharing great memories of their time at SIU and Carbondale. These individuals decided that one way to show appreciation for the good times they had at SIU would be to provide a scholarship for current SIU students. The scholarship would be intended for a student who was well-rounded with their life at SIU.

Requirements for the scholarship are:

1. Junior or Senior Status

2. Open to all majors

3. Applicant must be in academic good standing

4. Applicant to submit a one page or less statement of why they came to love SIU.

The intent is to continue to grow this endowed scholarship so that students will receive a scholarship every year. The past six years over $350,000 was raised and as a result six annual scholarships are given out. The goal this year would be to raise another $50,000 so that students would receive more or more scholarship can be given out!
