For those who know Chris Micha, his passion for the automotive industry and Southern Illinois University Carbondale is unmatched. Now, alumni and friends have the opportunity to honor his extraordinary contributions by establishing the Chris Micha Automotive Scholarship—a lasting tribute to a man who has given so much to SIU and its students.

This is a surprise! We're keeping this initiative confidential until November to celebrate Chris in a special way—please help us keep it under wraps!

🔧 A Lifetime of Support

Chris Micha, a 1983 graduate of SIU’s Automotive Technology program, has spent over 40 years giving back to the university in countless ways:

• Founding member and past President of the Automotive Technology Organization (ATO)
• Sponsor of the ATO since 1993, including major donations for the Nova drag car, trailer, and truck
• Organizer of automotive seminars for students and instructors—often on his own vacation time
• Host of annual cookouts for students during the Detroit Field Trip
• Facilitator of corporate partnerships, equipment donations, and educational tours
• 29-year member of the SIU Automotive Technology Advisory Board, including 10 years as Co-Chair
• 12-year member of the SIU Foundation Board

Chris’s unwavering commitment has shaped the SIU Automotive program and enriched the lives of countless students.

The Chris Micha Automotive Scholarship will support students in the Automotive Technology program who demonstrate passion, leadership, and a commitment to the field—just like Chris.

Your donation will help:

• Establish a permanent scholarship fund in Chris’s name
