Celebrating The 20th Anniversary of Able Flight With A Special Campaign!

Your Gift Will Help Build The Able Flight Endowment Fund at SIU

May 6th marks a special day in the history of Able Flight as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the only aviation nonprofit of its kind. Since 2006, through its unique mission of empowering people with physical disabilities to become licensed pilots, Able Flight’s scholarships have made it possible for over 100 people to challenge themselves through an intensive flight training program in specially-adapted aircraft.

People who use wheelchairs, veterans who have lost limbs and others who face physical challenges are welcomed into aviation by proving their abilities in the most successful flight training program in the country. Over the 20 year history of Able Flight, nearly 95% of scholarship recipients have “graduated” with an FAA issued pilot’s license, and in the first two years of Able Flight at SIU, that figure is 100%!

To celebrate this special day, please help us build the Able Flight Endowment Fund at the SIU Foundation. We are working towards the goal of a $2,000,000 endowment that will fully support Able Flight at SIU Scholarships for the future. All proceeds from your gift go directly to this special endowment fund.
